My LifeArt, Trips, and Stories From My Worldly Travels
Introspection | at the Sidney Berne Davis Art Center
The pieces on this exhibition are the product of a year of self-discovery and introspective analysis by the artist, hence the title of the collection. One particular characteristic is the use of techniques and mediums, such as silkscreen printing, which the artist had long abandoned. In addition, the subjects and ideas behind every piece vary from personal experiences to memories of a past life, important characters and influences and even the introduction of esoterically infused abstraction. The challenge was to compress a thousand emotions and thoughts into a cohesive collection of paintings, without overwhelming the viewer. In the process, more and more ideas came to life. As a way to accept the limitations of time and space, mini-installations will coexist with some of the pieces – adding an extra layer of intrigue and wonder.
